Artist of UNSEEN 2.0 - Bhamini Shree | Painter

UNSEEN 2.0 is an unconventional form of exhibition which is a digital art exhibition curated by Platform For Artists . This enables artists across the country to participate, showcase their work and connect with like minded people. The entire idea is to broaden the scope of exposure which the artists would probably not get at an offline event. We have sixty diverse artists from across the country who are a part of this one of it's kind art exhibition.

Here is a set of questions team Platform For Artists asked Bhamini about her everyday routine, her art interests and more.

Tell us about yourself.

Those close to me call me an artist, unbound, unaltered, unveiled, uncensored.

I am Bhamini, born and brought up in a small town. I always found myself unable to express in the crudest form and found the medium of exhibiting it in any form of art as the best way! This is how the journey started. All the emotions, be it anger, love, strength, fragility, sensuality, perception, liberty or pride have found their way in my works of Art.

What are your art interests?

Acrylic Painting, Oil Painting, Poetry writing, Hindi poem recitation, story telling, story based painting, blog writing.

What are your views about the current scenario of art in our country?

I believe that the freedom of expression is a myth. The same has also been conveyed through some of my works. Especially for a woman artist in our country, the idea of art as an uncensored expression is a brutal lie. I have experienced being judged, questioned, laughed at, mocked at and what not at numerous instances.

What are your working on currently?

I am currently working on a graphic novel based on Right Parenting for Your Male Child. I strongly believe that the issue of insensitivity, apathy, and at-times antipathy, harassment, abuse, sexual violence and emotional violence can be reduced with the right upbringing of the males in our culture. The same is aimed to be depicted through my paintings, abstract artworks, graphic representations and related articles.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Everyday life of mine and others

Which kind of artists would you be interested to collaborate with?

Non-objectifying artist who portrays womanhood in the crude form.

What's the first thing you do when you wake up ?

Smile and play music..

Which is the most used app on your phone?

Which is the one song you can't get out of your head?

Society Crazy Breed

You de-stress by?

Painting - when infuriated

Writing - when low
