Here is a set of questions team Platform For Artists asked Bhumika about her everyday routine, her art interests and more.

Tell us about yourself.

Motivated and driven with an urge to learn and impart knowledge in photography. I’m experienced in handling the studio and all the equipments including light setup for various scenarios. I have a good knowledge and understanding of the natural and studio lighting as well. I love to play with lighting patterns and direction on portraits. Being a student of Fashion Communication, I have learned styling, elements and principles of design along with having an eye for aesthetics and details.

I have always believed that to excel in the creative domain one should always be open to possibilities. It is my path of learning and self-understanding that comes when I photograph. I grow with every frame I shoot so I guess I am 100 frames wise.

What are your art interests?

I’m into various genres of photography be it fashion, portraits, landscape, architecture, but Art photography is the one which excites me the most. It is a representation of a photographer’s perception, thoughts and emotions. Fine art photography sometimes may overlap with other genres of photography, like fashion photography and photo-journalism. But it all depends on having a good idea. Exploring personal projects are really important. I’m very focused towards it and it gives meaning most to my soul.

What are your views about the current scenario of art in our country?

In India, post-production has taken over everything, whether it is fashion or landscape photography. As beneficial as it is, it is has often hindered artists from exercising their creativity in certain aspects.

But I see many artists who are growing in the domain of photography and it is inspiring to see budding photographers coming up with great content.

What are your working on currently?

I am a fresh Fashion Communication graduate out of National Institute of Fashion Communication, Bhubaneswar. Currently I’m a freelance photographer exercising my creativity and developing my vision.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I’m an observer and I like to give attention to details. I draw inspiration from paintings especially through their lights and also when I travel. Traveling is a medium which helps me to meet and experience new situations. Mostly I seek how to create my own personal style.

Which kind of artists would you be interested to collaborate with?

Artists are all different but by working together, they can be incredibly strong. I would like to collaborate with art directors, stylists and make-up artists to come up with a different idea.

What's the first thing you do when you wake up?

Mostly, I went out of my room to catch the morning sun light. I sit in my garden thinking about how to live TODAY, I make a blurry schedule and the moment I’m done thinking, I meditate.

Which is the most used app in your phone?

WhatsApp and Instagram - 'I have a meme's group though'

Which is the one song you can't get out of your head?

What a wonderful world – Louis Armstrong

You de-stress by?

I’m a Buddhist, I do meditation when I feel like. So, I rarely get stressed about anything.
