UNSEEN 2.0 is an unconventional form of exhibition which is a digital art exhibition curated by Platform For Artists . This enables artists across the country to participate, showcase their work and connect with like minded people. The entire idea is to broaden the scope of exposure which the artists would probably not get at an offline event. We have sixty diverse artists from across the country who are a part of this one of it's kind art exhibition.
Here is a set of questions team Platform For Artists asked Gunjan about her everyday routine, her art interests and more.
Tell us about yourself.
I am a charcoal artist based in Kolkata. I am a commerce graduate, 27 years of age and it has been three years now that I decided to take up sketching professionally. It was sheer passion and dedication which helped me in my journey so far. I firmly believe that it doesn’t matter which background one comes from if the zeal to learn and perform is there. Since I don’t come from an art background, I had to learn by making hell lot of mistakes( which I still do). I curate several art workshops where I get to meet some amazing bunch of creative people . I have hosted sessions in various cities like Kolkata, Chennai,Hyderabad,Bangalore,Raipur,Jaipur,Guwahati..(many more places yet to covered)
What are your art interests?
My forte’ is charcoal, and love making portraits and realistic sketches. I also experiment with other art forms like fluid art, coffee painting, pant with red wine, dot painting etc.
What are your views about the current scenario of art in our country?
Well, I believe people haven't yet started looking at this field as they would look at any other profession. They still have the image that one can not make a living being an artist…which is so not true. There is massive scope in any creative field. We just got to put in the effort like any other profession. This is something I come across very often . Young students who are so amazing with work are so Skeptical of taking art as a career. On the other hand they never get tired of appreciating any foreign artist. The plus point is that social media is a huge platform for connecting with people and to showcase our work. Its said that the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.I guess we should stop being critics and appreciate each others work, only then we can build a wise art community.
What are your working on currently?
I am currently working on bridal theme for my sketches. With respect to my workshops, I am launching my advance course the next month. Also, I am working on my art blogs and YouTube channel that I plan to launch soon.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Since I am into realistic sketches, I get inspired from small things in our day to day life. It could then be a particular face expression or even a still object. I love creating artworks that every person can connect to in some way or the other.
Which kind of artists would you be interested to collaborate with?
Art is one such field where one literally works with all his heart and creates artwork with love.I love working with artists who are so passionate about their work. Also, Someone who is not insecure of his work and willing to experiment.I mean the skill and talent lies in the artist.Lets share it in the right manner and build a strong art community.
What's the first thing you do when you wake up ?

Which is the most used app in your phone?
