UNSEEN 2.0 is an unconventional form of exhibition which is a digital art exhibition curated by Platform For Artists . This enables artists across the country to participate, showcase their work and connect with like minded people. The entire idea is to broaden the scope of exposure which the artists would probably not get at an offline event. We have sixty diverse artists from across the country who are a part of this one of it's kind art exhibition.
Here is a set of questions team Platform For Artists asked Rakhi about her everyday routine, her art interests and more.
Tell us about yourself.
I have always been an artist at heart. I have had no formal education in arts, yet with each creation I have discovered new aspects of myself. I love exploring and experimenting with different mediums of art, mosaic being my most treasured one. I am living my dream of being an artist, creating artistic stories with hand-cut relief mosaic for interior and exterior projects.
What are your art interests?
The trademark style of my work is mosaic with multi-colored textures and superfine finishes. Glass A Part is a platform created by me for all handcrafted, customized mosaic artworks with functional value. Each and every piece of artwork is designed with handcrafted glass, beads, mirrors, bone china crockery and ceramic tiles to give each piece a distinguished look. When each and every piece is handmade from the scratch, with love, passion, dedication and expertise, all you can expect is to get an accomplished and unique piece of artwork.
What are your views about the current scenario of art in our country?
Art in India has evolved so much since the historic times. There is so much of diversity within the creative fields itself, it’s surprising! From the traditional warli and madhubani to the modern art and sculptures, India has it all. Each and every form of art in India is being appreciated by many and all of these forms are masterpieces in themselves.
What are you working on currently?
Currently I am making a Radha Krishna portrait using stained glass, tiles, beads, and mirror bits.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration mostly comes from looking around, observing the nature. It also has a lot to do with God and my faith in Him. The ideas grow inside my mind and I implement them as they come to me.
Which kind of artists would you be interested to collaborate with?
I would be interested in collaborating with graffiti artists, metal artists, mural artists, interior designers and architects.
What's the first thing you do when you wake up?
The first thing I do after getting up in the morning is head out to the balcony after making myself a cup of tea, and enjoy the beauty of mother nature.
Which is the most used app in your phone?
The most used apps on my phone are Pinterest, Instagram and PicsArt.
Which is the one song you can't get out of your head?
I’m obsessed with the song ‘Tujhse Naraaz Nahi Zindagi’
You de-stress by?
I de-stress by spending time with my family, taking walks, listening to music and ofcourse, by doing mosaic.
