This enables artists across the country to participate, showcase their work and connect with like minded people. Tell us about yourself?
I am an emerging contemporary artist, working primarily in oils and acrylic with a wide range of portraits, figurative and equine art collection. My childhood interest in art matured into a love of painting. Starting with female portraits I've turned my attention to equine art and one line sketching.Largely being a self taught artist I learnt the skill of figurative drawing and painting in Florence, Italy. After which is started selling my artwork through exhibitions and commissions in New Delhi.
What are your art interests?
I closely follow the works of Modigliani , Mark Maggiori , Silvio Prozionato , Marco Grassi , Nick Alm, Jennifer Gennari, and Peter Terrin.
What are your views on the current scenario of art in the country?
During the last decade art has transformed its support base from art houses , government agencies, royal rich families to the middle class buyers witnessing a steady growth in the Indian art industry . With the help of online digital platforms the youth is being fueled with interest in art , not only as an opportunity for investment but also for its appreciation.
What are you working on currently?
Currently working on commissioned paintings alongside my personal collection of equine art.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Thing about painting horses is you don't need much inspiration. They are majestic beautiful beings which often bring about prosperity.
What kind of artists would you be interested to collaborate with?
I would be interested in collaborating with artists who's work differs from mine in order to expand my knowledge of art.
What's the first thing you do when you wake up?
The first thing after waking up would be having a strong cup of black coffee and visualizing the next step for my painting , followed by a second cup to get the brush strokes going.
Which is the most used app on your phone?
The most used app on my phone would have to be Instagram . It helps in interacting with artists across the globe as well as providing a platform to showcase one's artwork.
Which is the one song you can't get out of your head?
There are many songs depending on what mood you're in but this is an all time favorite 'Everybody Knows - Leonard Cohen'.
You de stress by?
There are days when nothing goes right not one brush stroke not one charcoal sketch, in order to de-stress I usually go out listen to some good music , have a few cocktails.
