Artist of UNSEEN 2.0 - Siddhesh Sapte | Doodler, Painter

UNSEEN 2.0 is an unconventional form of exhibition which is a digital art exhibition curated by Platform For Artists . This enables artists across the country to participate, showcase their work and connect with like minded people. The entire idea is to broaden the scope of exposure which the artists would probably not get at an offline event. We have sixty diverse artists from across the country who are a part of this one of it's kind art exhibition.

Here is a set of questions team Platform For Artists asked Siddhesh about his everyday routine, his art interests and more.

Tell us about yourself.

I was born and brought up in Mumbai. I finished my art course and went on to do advertising. In my initial years I worked in Mumbai and then I moved to Nairobi for work. I never considered myself a painter but with the free time I had in Nairobi, I started doodling. As they often say, one thing led to another and soon I was painting on canvas.

I don’t claim to be a philosopher. In fact, I detest it. You just need free thinking and appreciation of differences. Above all, life is meant for good friends and great beers. The two things that help us embrace this imperfect world.

What are your art interests?

For me I have discovered most of my styles and techniques by accident. Failing is key to discovering your art and interests.

What are your views about the current scenario of art in our country?

With so many platforms at your disposal one can put themselves out there. Right now is one of the best times to be an artist.

What are you working on currently?

Art has really helped me understand and observe the quirks of life. I’m using the same to reach out to like-minded people via Over A Pint Of Beer (@overapintofbeer). It is an art based brand which strives to put quirk into your everyday.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

For me it’s always people. One of my favorite quotes is from the movie 'Into the Wild'. Chris McCandless says, “Happiness is only real once shared. When we cross paths with others, there is always a point in time, when a connection is formed, born perhaps out of our vulnerabilities."

Which kind of artists would you be interested to collaborate with?

Poets, Writers, Interior designers and Architects.

What's the first thing you do when you wake up ?

Nothing in particular but I make sure that I don’t check my phone.

Which is the most used app on your phone?

Which is the one song you can't get out of your head?

The song keeps changing and mostly it’s Hindi music. But I recently stumbled upon ‘vincent by don mclean’ that’s my current favorite.

You de-stress by?

Watching movies. I can watch any kind of movie.
